Custom dimensions in optmizely classic vs custom attributes in optimizely x via js API

Hi,

i want to know if there are any further changes to the syntax when migrating from "old" custom dimensions to the "new" custom attributes? (reference)

old syntax:

optimizely.push(['setDimensionValue', 'test2', 'yourValue']);

Same value with the new syntax:

optimizely.push({
  "type": "user",
  "attributes": {
    "test2": "yourValue"
  }
});

Can i expect the same result in optimizely x as in optimizely classic?

regards,

Moritz

Hi Moritz,

Thanks for posting here. Custom dimensions and Custom Attributes are the same thing indeed, and your examples will output the same result. Please note that you can also keep using Custom dimensions from Optimizely Classic in your Optimizely X projects, for more information on this topic please head here.

Let us know if you have any more questions!

Best regards,

Optimizely
