Feature request: force query params that use variation names

[ Edited ]

Hi,

In order to test the different variants, I often find it necessary to programmatically enable certain variants. However, it's a bit unwieldy to follow the instructions in https://help.optimizely.com/QA_Campaigns_and_Experiments/Force_a_specific_variation_to_run as that requires correlating a variant Id with a particular variant.

In order to correlate a variant to an id, I do the following:

* Find the experiment in optimizely.allExperiments

* Mentally note the variants

* Look in optimizely.allVariations to find your variations and figure out which one you want (based on the variant name)

We use standard variant names (Original, Active) and have disabled the variant privacy setting. I'd love it if it were possible to enable variants based on their names, e.g. `optimizely_x$EXPERIMENT_ID=Active`

Thank you! Love the product

Hey Robert,

Are you using Optimizely Classic or Optimizely X? If you're suggesting a new feature I think this is the place to make sure your idea is seen: https://community.optimizely.com/t5/Product-Ideas/idb-p/product-ideas
