One of the things that I always find valuable when joining a new community is getting an idea of what other people do. I personally like hearing what other community members are working on currently and how they were introduced to the world of experience optimization.

Tell us:

1. What's your name and title?

  - Chad Wales, Digital Analyst

2. What made you first get into the optimization world?

  - I was originally in the web analytics space using Omniture and Google Analytics, then  I changed companies. My new organization was using testing tools to verify hypothesis forumulated through both qualatiative and quantitative data we were collecting. We've quickly built up our testing and optimization team and it's assisiting us in planning for a website redesign.

3. What are you working on at the moment?

- Working on testing components and sections of our site to inform decisions for redesign and also using testing to improve conversion / revenue in our ecomm store. We recently used optimizely to launch and test a 'related products module' on our shopping cart page. The test increased products per trasaction 4% and overall revenue per order 5%.

Small improvements here and there end up making a big impact to overall user experience and the bottom line.
