Debugging with optimizely.push('log') is an extra step that confuses most people and/or dumps way too much into the console. As a feature it would be awesome if the internal log function had an if statement for:

if (isProbablyADev()) {
  window.console.error.apply(console, arguments);
}

function isProbablyADev(){
  return /optimizely_x/.test(location.search)
}

Executive Dashboard

Status: New
by tscala ‎09-11-2015 September 11, 2015

Similar to Consolidated Dashboard and Snapshot of Experience Variations, a simplified card-view or Powerpoint/Keynote view of the primary goal or KPI, snapshots, and hypothesis. I understand the potential complexity and difficulty in standardizing this, from experiment to experiment and site to site/company to company. I feel there is a need for a "front of the baseball card" view compared to the "back of the baseball card" view the excellent Optimizely dashboard and myriad of integrations already provides.

Get rid of "subscribe to RSS Feed" on posts

Hi! I think it would be beneficial to get rid of the "subscribe to RSS Feed" option under posts, looks like it doesn't work correctly.

Thanks!

Ability to schedule start and end dates

Status: New
by ‎09-07-2015 September 7, 2015

So, I know from a testing perspective this is a fairly un-needed piece of functionality as you run tests for as long as you need to get a statistical result.

However, I am sure that many people are like me and use the Optimizely service to run a number of other hot-fixes, patches and marketing promotions using the service.

I am often looking to schedule my Optimizely experiments as they run in line with our marketing promotions so having them auto start and stop would save me having to be around in the early hours to stop campaigns.

Is this something that could be incorporated in the future.

Edit Goals in

In the experiment over view / home page -- enable editing on the right experiment details.

For example - the Traffic allocation area.  when clicking on the edit link, could transform to ediible boxes and a slider appear for the 100% - 0% .

Full page HTML varations

Status: New
by ‎09-04-2015 September 4, 2015

When testing new designs.. it would be great if I could just drop in (copy paste) my new HTML and have Optimizely tranform it into a Javascrpt container (if needed) -- then from there I can use the UI to select the element for tracking etc..

Make Goals Sortable

Status: New
by sbottorff ‎09-04-2015 September 4, 2015

Would be nice if we could sort the goals in an experiment according to our preferences. A simple drag and drop functionality would do.

Since going into the Editor to retrive simple setup info is sort of a pain (loads slowly), using the Overview/Dashboard is the quickest way to retrieve basic info for a test (and is a great recent enhancement).

Add Integrations View in Overview:

As we use the Adobe Analytics (Omniture) integration quite a bit and reserve many different evars and props for testing, it's be great to see which evars/props we are using for a given test in the Overview.

Add Variation IDs in Overview:

In addition, since we elect to obfuscate our test names, adding the variation IDs to the Overview would be hepful as in Omniture, this is the way we have to view test names:

The current proxy solution that the optimizely editor offers is incomplete as it fails to properly deal with relative urls. This causes those resources to be requested relative to the editor and not via the proxy solution.

One way to tackle this issue would be to set up the editor in such a way that you allow customers to have their own custom subdomain (per website). This would allow the editor to intercept these requests within the context of the customer/website and that way be able to proxy it to the correct uri. I bet that in the end this would even simplify the current proxy solution.

Having inbuilt functionality of having a nudge

Status: New
by ishaan ‎08-21-2015 August 21, 2015

Hi,

Since Optimizely is growing so big, why not add an additional functionality of displaying nudge, something like Qualaroo. That way we can increase number of customers too as they won't need to pay for two things when they can get everything in Optimizely

The Anti-Goal

Status: New
by George ‎08-20-2015 August 20, 2015

I believe that one of the core tenets of multivariate testing is to capture as much data as possible.

As a product owner who's constantly testing, I often track a variety of goals with each experiment. Many of the goals are based off of custom events and sometimes just plain click goals. Another thing I typically also add is the goal called "Engagement: The percentage of visitors who clicked on any part of the experiment page."

These are all great, but sometimes I'm testing a button on a page that has many other things on it (and could also be dynamic and personalized). What I want to know is what percentage of users clicked on something OTHER THAN the button I am optimizing, for each variation. That would provide me with extra validation to determine if a variation is succeeding or failing.

I could set up events for every other link or button on the page, but again, there can be quite a few and it could be dynamically generated and personalized. The built-in "Engagement" goal also does not work because that will include the people that clicked on the button I am trying to optimize.

It could be set up on a per goal basis (where for every goal, you can see the % of users who completed that goal, and then the % of users who did something else). Alternatively, it could be set up on a per experiment basis (where it would show the % of users who did anything besides any of the goals that were attached to the experiment). Or it could have both.

Having a so-called Anti-Goal would allow me to see how people are interacting with an experiment in ways that I did not expect or anticipate.

Modifiers in Regex

Status: New
by ishaan on ‎08-13-2015 August 13, 2015 - last edited on ‎08-13-2015 August 13, 2015 by Optimizely

Optimizely should start supporting modifiers in regex url targeting. This would allow for much more flexibility in URL targeting.

I could have sworn it was already there, but it would be awesome to have the URL Match Validator in the Goal setup dialog for Pageview goals (and maybe also in the advanced tab for Click goals).

Consolidated Dashboard

Status: New
by raman ‎08-07-2015 August 7, 2015

Optimizely needs to connect to the entire Universe of Analytics by partnering with other Analytics systems so that we can on one consolidated dashboard see data for users from external clicks through to conversion. It can possibly achieve this by partnering with the App Store/Google Play, referral tracking providers such as Kocvhava, AppsFlyer etc. as well as Push Notification providers, as well as Analytics systems such as Localytics, Google Analytics and so on (or at least some of the above) to get the data needed for such consolidated reporting on conversions.

So for example what is the conversion rate and behavioural stats for users coming in from a News site Ad to download the app, and deep link or search for a flight and buy a ticket, or book a hotel. Or from a push notification and so on.

This would really be an amazing and powerful tool to have. I will launch my own startup and do this if you do not!!

Plug in for wix

Status: New
by pooranpanwar ‎07-27-2015 July 27, 2015

Hi,

I have a website built using Wix and the CMS doesn't allow me to add the external JS snippet. So, in a nutshell, any of wix's customer can't use optimizely.

Would be great to have optimizely develop a plug-in for wix, just like the way you have developed for wordpress.

Add a column to the main display showing the date / time when an experiment was paused -- OR make this coumn configurable to display other information.

For those of us that deal with many projects, it would be very useful to have a dashboard with running projects and other basic KPIs across budgets.

Yes the API is great and we'll be able to create something more comprehensive in the future, but for now a simple dashboard that lets us know at least running experiments would be tremendously useful.

Here's an idea:

LED stats display

Status: New
by sbottorff ‎07-22-2015 July 22, 2015

To keep the team informed, wouldn't it be cool to have a Wall St. style ticker display with all relevant experiment data scrolling through? Then you could add all your traffic and analytics data as well. I bet it's totally doable with RaspberryPi and the REST APIsomething like this

Export foratted PDF of results

Status: New
by jfx1026 ‎07-21-2015 July 21, 2015

I'd like the option to export the data as a clean presentable PDF. This would serve two purposes. First, sharing the information with less screen-savy people. Second, teh PFD can double as a file backup of testing results.

Bonus, PDFs are editable in tools like Adobe Illustrator - so I could tweak them for pretty presentation.
