Add querystring parameter targeting at the url level for multi-page tests. Other stuff would be cool as well (like checking js variable value), but querystring is what's causing us pain right now, so I won't be too greedy ;-)

Here's the current scenario:

Since I believe the following are true

  1.  targeting conditions other than the url don't apply when the test code is actually run after the user has already been slotted into a test
  2. the url targeting on multipage tests doesn't cover querystring parameters (or other conditions that might be relevant for identifying a specific page & user experience (cookie, javascript variable, etc))

The following is not possible in a single multipage test:

  1. targeting changes to a dynamic page where the only difference in the url are querystring parameters and values. In other words, where what loads on the page is determined by what's in the query string, not the base url.
  2. targeting changes to a dynamic page where what loads on the page is determined by a cookie or javascript variable being present and equaling a certain value.

Keeping in mind that the querystring parameters, cookies, or javascript variables may be different page to page with the list of pages included in the test.

I just had to create a test that was essentially 4 optimizely tests, that could have been a single multipage test if the url parameters were available in the url targeting.

Goal Interface Improvements

Status: Done
by thisbetom ‎05-10-2014 May 10, 2014

Enterprise clients have a hard time searching/applying correct goals and/or documenting them fully in the name field alone

1) Search textbox to filter within goals modal

2) Ability to add descriptions to goals (similar to use segments)

3) Remove vs Delete could also be more user friendly in their interactions. Kinda confusing setup at this point.

Logo Click

Status: Done
by JBertling ‎05-08-2014 May 8, 2014

Would be really fantastic if, when logged in, I wasn't taken to the home page when I clicked the logo. I'd much rather go to the dashboard.

Also, it'd be really great to quit getting prompted to add collaborators. Super annoying for users.

It might be cool if you guys had a place for users to tell you where there were bugs or innacuracies in Optiverse and the developer portal. That way we can help you to keep it up to date :-)

For example: when you use browser search (Ctrl F) on the developer site (once you are in one of the sections) the header gets messed up. I'd attach a screenshot, but it doesn't look like I can. Essentially, big text appears overlapping the logo area. This happens for me in Chrome and IE, but not Safari. Not a big deal, but something I noticed and thought I would pass on.

Easy access to forced urls

Status: Maybe One Day
by gbesen ‎04-29-2014 April 29, 2014
When we setup an experiment we check the variations with forced urls instead of preview thing because most of the time we find that the variation does not work even if it works in preview. While this means preview sucks, the best way we found is to check the variation from the forced urls.

As a result it would be very useful for us to be able to click and go to forced url's instead of finding out the experiment id, the oprimizely_x syntax and variation id and append it to the test url.

Export tests list

Status: Done
by SarahR ‎04-21-2014 April 21, 2014

I would love to be able to export the list from the "Experiments" list tab, allowing me to either share directly internally, or pull into our internal test dashboards.

So perhaps having a download or export button with csv, excel, etc... format options. And, if I had searched for something, I would only want it to export the visible list (or more specifically, the list of tests that matched the search).

The fields that I would want included would be:

  • Experiment name
  • Status
  • Visitors
  • Start Date
  • End Date (empty if test is still running)
  • Last Modified
  • # of variations
  • "winner", "loser", "inconclusive" or "more data needed" status against primary goal

Please redesign your Solution Partner Page

Status: Done
by msjain ‎04-18-2014 April 18, 2014

It is very hard to browse all the solution partners. Finding them on the map and trying to click the dots is frustrating. Also their contact info, URL etc is not easy to click and may be out of date.

Advanced permissions

Status: Maybe One Day
by SarahR ‎04-17-2014 April 17, 2014
It would be great to be able to set permissions at a feature level with check boxes or something similar. We for example would like to be able to have a release manager stop & start tests, but not edit tests or the project. We would also like our dev team to be able to edit but not start & stop a test. And, last but not least, have product managers view the experiment configuration & results, but not make any changes.

In other words, instead of having set roles, allowing us to set the specific access per user.

Cool new charts but I am liking the old way, sorry.

I'd love to be able to export all cusotmer segmentations at once instead of having to manually export each one.
