Grid overlay view in editor

Status: Maybe One Day
by JeffDunne ‎02-26-2015 February 26, 2015

There should be a toggleable grid overlay in the variation editor; ensuring buttons are lined up after moving them is pretty important, and not having a grid makes it SUPER hard.

We end up doing an unecessary amount of custom events to get around timing of elements being in the dom and/or needing to track something other than clicks and pageviews. Building out the goals config further to something more generic that could config selector, action, bind time (domReady or window.load), and/or the option to delegate the selector so that you don't have to waitForElement poll to bind the handlers would be great.

// configurable in goals modal
var selector = $('#config-selector').val(); // '#form' var action = $('#config-action').val(); // 'submit' var ready = $('#config-ready').val(); // true
// psuedocode for binding
$(ready ? document : window)[ready ? 'ready' : 'load'](function () { $(selector)[action](function () { window.optimizely.push(['trackEvent', '{slug}']); }); }) // var delegateTo = $('#config-delegate'); // optional (string) // would be a bit more difficult than coding in the optiverse // code editor before coffee lends itself... I have faith though!

Optimizely App

Status: Maybe One Day
by jerryaus ‎02-18-2015 February 18, 2015

Optimizely is a great tool that I like more and more every day.

However I use my mobile phone a lot for work. I use apps many times of day to get updates about data for our apps and websites.

However it's very difficult to access Optimizely on mobile. The website is not adaptive or responsive and for that reason I can only check my results or even work on some experiments on Desktop.

It would be great if the users could have an Optimizely app where we could at least check the results.

Support customizing browser cache time

Status: Maybe One Day
by ronlussier on ‎04-02-2015 April 2, 2015 - last edited on ‎04-10-2015 April 10, 2015 by Optimizely
Optimizely's setting for browser cache time is 2 minutes.  This is very low, and causes users to refresh the file constantly.
We would like to change this to 30m or 1h to allow users to get the snippet once per session.
Can you allow us to change the browser cache-time setting for our code?

Auto-refresh in new results view

Status: Maybe One Day
by Allie ‎06-05-2014 June 5, 2014

Is there an option to auto-refresh in the new results view? I usually keep my tests running in the background, and it was really nice not having to refresh the page every time I wanted to see updated numbers.

Status: Maybe One Day

We would like to have an option to select the type of goal and it should also be possible to change the type later.

With this option you can easier set up a global, project or experiment goal and we could reduce the amount of goals in the goal list and make it clearer.

The idea came up because we create a lot of different tests with a lot of goals. Some of the goals we use in many different projects, some of them we use only in one project and some of the goals we only use in one experiment.

Status: Maybe One Day

I frequently re-use code pieces when setting up experiments, and I'm sure many other people do as well. I often find myself wanting to grab some code that I've written for an older, completed experiment but am unable to because the page that the experiment runs on no longer loads in the editor. Maybe the page is gone, maybe the Optimizely project code was removed from it, etc. I'd like to be able to get at the variation code in that situation.

I know I could maybe do a workaround by putting a different page into the editor, but even that won't work if the project code is no longer on the page.

Status: Maybe One Day
Sorry, I don't think we're likely to support this, but you can always use the API to grab the variation code from pages that don't load anymore!

Currently, you can't access the web editor for an archived experiment from the dashboard unless you first un-archive the experiment. However, you CAN access the web editor for an archived experiment without un-archiving it if you first go to the results page for that experiment and then click the "Edit Experiment" button. I'd like to see the web editor access restriction from the dashboard removed. It seems unnecessary, especially considering that you can get to it anyway through a circuitious route Smiley Tongue

Can you please explain why you don't want to just unarchive the experiment? Are you just trying to look up old variation code to use? Perhaps you can use the experiments API instead:

It would be great if there was an 'exclude from reporting results' type call that we can add within the advanced variation code.

Essentially, I wanted to create an experiment for our Product pages where only a subset of the pages contained the document element that I wanted to modify. I would like to say if element does not exist, exclude this pageview from the reporting.

How about an Optimizely integration for Woo Commerce (the world's most popular e-commerce platform) that makes multivariate testing for product pages easier.

Testing Elements From Other Pages

We've come across more than a few situations where it would be valueable to copy an element from page to insert in an experiement variation on a different page than it exists on in the original.

Export of Results Page and Charts

Status: Maybe One Day
by greg ‎11-20-2014 November 20, 2014

Documenting results is a critical step in any good optimization process. Since accessing previous results within Optimizely is a pain (view archived tests, unarchive it, view results, then archive again...), I've been saving all results in a separate system, including screenshots of the results page and charts (all expanded). The charts often show important trends (or changes in trends) that the final results don't, so it's not enough to just save the final results.

It would be great to be able to easily save a screenshot of the full page (or export a PDF, whatever).

Add a media gallery to the dashboard

Actually, some our clients don't want to leave image files in optimizely cdn server after the experiment is finished.

so, I want to manage image files which are uploaded to optimizely cdn server.

Pause a specific combination in a MVT

Status: Maybe One Day
by MickN ‎06-26-2014 June 26, 2014

If you collect enough data during a MultiVariateTest, but there are more combinations which are performing well. You would like to go furthur with the successful combinations. So I understand the point that you should pause the existing MVT and duplicate it, because all visitors will begin with a clean sheet instead of seeing the old variations.

But now you can only pause a whole variation instead of pause a specific combination in the duplicate.

You need to make a whole new A/B test with the successful combinations to "continue" the test. It would be great if it's possible to pause just a specific combination.

Variation-specific CSS/JSS

Status: Maybe One Day
by igerber ‎05-21-2014 May 21, 2014

Right now the editor allows us to add global CSS / JS.

This is handy.

However, there are times I would like to add variation specific CSS / JS changes. Otherwise, I need to either do all styling inline or create new classes and add those new classes to the global CSS.

It will be great if we could initalize the tracker manually ( we can do it with experiments), or to push a "no cookie" command before snippet loading.

With the present implementation, we can´t give solutions to Cookie Policies, like EU "Cookie" Directive.

Audience combinations

by SarahR ‎04-17-2014 April 17, 2014
It would be great to create an audience for targeting from both 3rd party data (like a bluekai audience) and 1st party data (like a Tealium AudienceStream audience).

We now have the Annotation feature on the result page. I use this for documentation of changes in the test for external factors like marketing events. Often, I want to see the impact of these changes on the test. It would be nice, if we could select the annotion dates for start/end date in the Date Range selector. Right now, I have to this manually, which is quite painful.

In addition, it would be nice if the interface could remember my Data Range selection (via query string or custom view).
