jQuery 1.11.3 now available in Optimizely

by Optimizely ‎11-23-2015 November 23, 2015

We're excited to announce that jQuery 1.11.3 is available now in full and trimmed versions to include in your Javascript project snippet! To enable, just head over to your project Javascript Settings:

Enable jQuery 1.11.3 in Project Javascript settings

This is the latest release in the 1.x "compatibility" branch of jQuery, which retains support for IE8 and includes significant speed improvements.

We’ve tested it to be backwards-compatible with jQuery 1.6.4 for all the code that Optimizely emits and runs by default. If you run custom code through Optimizely, we recommend testing your code to ensure nothing breaks before enabling 1.11.3.

Please try it out, and let us know here what you think.

If you run custom code through Optimizely:

There are certain functions that no longer exist in 1.11.3 that some of your custom jQuery may have been using. Most notably .live() does not exist in jQuery 1.11.3. So if you have tried using $().live("mousedown"...) or something similar, please try using $().on("mousedown"...) instead.

A list of potentially important changes can be found here (http://jquery.com/upgrade-guide/1.9/)
