Ecommerce cart questionnaires

We are running questionnaires in customer carts and It'd be great to see examples of how other companies are doing this and what questions they are asking.

Does anyone out there know of technology ecommerce carts that are currently running qualitative analysis in the cart? Ideally customer surveysor exit surveys?

Any examples will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Re: Ecommerce cart questionnaires

Qualaroo is a 3rd party qualitative analysis tool that lets you set up surveys on pages on your site. Functions very simmilarly to Optimizely. Optimizely even has a 3rd party integration with them, allowing you to synch up the surveys you set up in Qualaroo with the experiments you set up in Optimizely, allowing you to get both quantitative and qualitative data about an experiment. In fact, I believe Optimizely themselves use Qualaroo; ever see the little survey tab that pops up in the lower right corner of a page on the support articles? I'm like 99% sure that's a Qualaroo powered survey.

Re: Ecommerce cart questionnaires

This is not something that I have had a hands on working with, however I know companies who have tried this.

My intial concern would be with adding a distraction inside the purchase funnel. Are you planning to run them eith exit intent or on all visitors to the cart?

Re: Ecommerce cart questionnaires

We run them with a variety of triggers, rarely do we do upon arrival, generally it's upon exit, based on a time delay or sometimes we trigger it on a javascript event. It can distract people sure, but at that point in the funnel with one of those triggers the information is invaluable, and we only test for a certain period of time and generally a small percent of users.

What I was really looking for isn't a tool recommendation though, it's an example or a screenshot of a site that is currently running an exit survey.

Re: Ecommerce cart questionnaires

You can use https://survicate.com/ to collect feedback on ecommerce websites with website surveys. Survicate gives the possibility of showing survey widgets when visitors are about to leave the website so you can ask why they are quitting shopping. Other targeting options are also available, including traffic sources, URLs, behavior on the website etc.
Survicate now integrates with Optimizely and you can set surveys to appear on certain variants of experiments. As a result, you easily see what people are saying about a variant and what are the differences in answers between variants.

Here are 2 case studies of Survicate's ecommerce clients, they can give you more ideas how Survicate can be used and how ecommerce can benefit from collecting feedback :
