A/B Testing at GetBus - "You're Almost Done!"
GetBus is an eCommerce website, engaging users and bus companies, offering private-hire buses and minibuses services. As such, filling in an itinerary is a key 'first-step' we want our users to successfully take.
"Yay! A/B testing time!"
One of the most important KPIs in our case is the 'Visitors to Deals' ratio, meaning, how many deals we get out of X unique visitors.
Zooming in, we listed 4 check points:
- Entering our website - could be via clicking a sponsored ad, referral links, etc., (this is important - different sources/ads draw different user profiles).
- Initial engagement - start entering an itinerary (from within our home page or one of our other pages.
- Completing the itinerary entry - effectively, at this point the user gave us info about himself and his trip, gets our price quote and the option to complete the booking.
The tools we used to gather and analyze the data were: Google Analytics (for measuring usage and user behavior), Optimizely (for creating different versions and traffic allocation),......
