Adding Hellobar Javascript

Hi Guys,

I am finally delving into the world of conversion rate optimization and split A/B Testing. It's all going well, have crazy egg for heatmapping (which is bringing up some interesting stuff) and I have decided to test some changes.

I have setup a variation in optimizely, so i can see what effect the change would have, but i am struggling.

I am trying to add the hellobar via crazy egg to a variation (it's just a simple piece of javascript),

<script src="//my.hellobar.com/bbc0f92202d79eacd67314e5d4cba0d6764b0167.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" async="async"></script>

but when I do I get the following error "Error evaluating variation javascript&colon;
SyntaxError: expected expression, got '<'

Can anyone help?

Regards

Neil

Re: Adding Hellobar Javascript

Hi Neil, We have some great developer documentation on how to add a third party script to your variation code. Check it out here: http://developers.optimizely.com/samples/#load-external-javascript-28

There's also a similar discussion where another community member was trying to add a social sharing script. You might find that helpful too: https://community.optimizely.com/t5/Using-Optimizely/Loading-external-scripts-through-Optimizeley-so...

Let me know if this does the trick for you!

Hi Amanda,

Best support ever!! That did the trick!. I will probably have another question shortly but want to try and work out the solution myself first.
