Can someone help confirm that this test is set up properly? Tracking a sign up flow.

We're running a test to track viewing of a modal window to a successful sign up.

So this is how it should work:

Audience: All users who visit any page on website.com. Excluding the pages below.
  • GOAL 1: Sign up step 1 - page view goal
  • GOAL 2: Sign up step 2 - page view goal
  • GOAL 3: Complete sign up - page view goal'

These are the pages that matter:

website.com (simple match)

Then

exclude: signup1.html

exclude: signup2.html

exclude: signup-success.html

The modal will trigger any time a user visits the page except for the above 3. I want to track Modal View -> Sign up step 1 -> Sign up step 2 -> Successful sign up

If I exclude a page in the experiment, the pageview tracking still works right?

The pageview tracking should still work. And the page view goal will trigger on the steps you listed if implemented appropriately.

If someone lands on any of the 3 pages (signup step 1, signup step 2, signup confirmation) before being bucketed into the experiment, the page view will not count, correct?

If a user is not bucketed into an experiment, a pageview goal for that experiment will not be counted.
