Can't track newly created element for click goals

Hi,

I created an experiement in which I rearranged and added new text/image to the page. Obviously, i want to be able to track these new elements I've created to see how it performs. When I select the newly created content, and select "track clicks," the original version of the web page displays, so that I am unable to track my new content. Any ideas for how to do this? Thanks for your help!

Re: Can't track newly created element for click goals

We actually have a great Support Article that describes how to track clicks on brand new content. You can find it here: https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/200039905-Click-goals#new_content_new

When you click the element and select "Track clicks", you'll see the original page iframed in the goal window, but the new element will be tracked. You can confirm this by clicking advanced and looking at the selector. This selector represents the new button.

Another great way to confirm that your click goal is set up correctly is to click "Options" > "Element Tracking" > "Highlight tracked elements in red". This should outline your new elelement in red. You can also use the preview mode to right click on the new element and see if the goal is triggered by looking at the events tab. You can check out this article for details on how to do this: https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/200039675-Preview-Mode-and-Cross-Browser-Test#events_t...

Let me know if you have questions, or if this helps clear things up!
