Clickthru Destination Being Overridden on Mobile Devices

Summary:

-Testing clickthru destinations for a hero image on our mobile e-commerce site

-Control drives to a landing page environment best suited for desktop UX (not mobile-optimized)

-Variation drives to a thumbs (product listing, etc) page -- closer down the funnel for mobile shoppers

Test Code:

$("#home_carousel .slick-current > a:eq(0)").attr({"href":"/winter-all.htm?cm_sp=hp-_-m
_herothm1_WINTERSHOP_TEST-_-10418"});

 Works fine when testing on my desktop device (@ the mobile site location):

https://m.shoes.com/?optimizely_x10014456644=1

However, when clicking through on an actual mobile device (iPhone 6 in my test case), I am directed through to the control landing page.

Any help/feedback here would be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!!

Re: Clickthru Destination Being Overridden on Mobile Devices

Yeah I am not positive as to why it was being overridden.

Thanks for your help anyway!

Re: Clickthru Destination Being Overridden on Mobile Devices

If I did want to replace the image though, would I use the same index logic that I am currently using with the link?

THANKS!

Re: Clickthru Destination Being Overridden on Mobile Devices

You may use something like this:

jQuery("div.slick-slide[data-slick-index=0] img").attr("src","http://images.sportbuzzer.de/v1/photos/raw/nieden-190817zn16/regular-16-9");

But i recognized some flickering which might be produced by the plugin you are using. Probably, it is possible to reinitialise it.

Whenever you use something like "current" or "active" you might hit the wrong element due to latency issues.
