Hello,
After setting my Experiment URL and Experiment test name this error is showing and not allowing me to proceed: CrazyEgg: Create snapshot failed with status code 403
Does anyone has experienced this before?
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Juliana

“Page is currently tracking? No. This page does not match any active snapshots”
When you enable the CrazyEgg integration, the snippet sets a variable (CE_SNAPSHOT_NAME) and populates it with the Optimizely Experiment name and variation. If you mask Optimizely descriptive names as IDs, CE_SNAPSHOT_NAME attempts to populate the variable with the Experiment ID instead of the name, causing Crazy Egg to generate an error message.
To clear this error and begin data collection, do one of the following:
Change the name of the snapshot manually in CrazyEgg
Unmask the variation name in Optimizely in Home page > Settings > Privacy. This allows Optimizely to re-populate the CrazyEgg variable. Once the descriptive name is unmasked and the snapshot is recaptured, you can then mask the name again.

I am also receiving this error message. I cannot save any of the code in the editor because it says the Crazy Egg snapshot failed.
Any update on the fix? We would like to launch ASAP
Thanks,
Claire

Thanks for the response! I tried to untick Crazyegg as an Integration option but that doesn't work either...

Thanks for your response.
We don't mask Optimizely descriptive names, I just check that. What I found strange is that CrazyEgg didn't create any snapshot with the name of the experiment that I created, normally it happen even before making the test live.
I 'll post the solution here once someone from Optimizely gets back to me.
Thanks for your attention,
Juliana

First, check the installation of the snippet code
(lets sure that there are no others snapshot pointing to the same URL )
1 Go to Crazyegg > Login > Select your snapshot > Check Installation
2 If you don't have any problem, then delete that snapshot and create a new one and let it running.
3 I don't think that are any problems with Optimizely
(Maybe Crazyegg has been problems with its system)

We don't currently have any snapshots running in Crazy Egg - and haven't had any for a while. None of our other experiments are having this issue.
Not sure what else to check at this point! Any insights are greatly appreciated.

These days, I have been seen a lot of issues with Crazyegg here at the forum, maybe you should remove the snippet code from your site and ask about your problem with Crazyegg and please, keep me informed.
Can you send me the URL that is having problems (maybe I can find something)

Looks like we might have a solution. In the Optimizely editor, under Options -> Integrations, uncheck the Crazy Egg integration. My developer says that everything seems to be working now. Unfortunately, this means that we won't see heatmaps for the experiment, but it's a good fix for us now.
I will continue to research to see if we can find the root cause of the issue.
Thanks for everyone's help!

You don't need to integrate Optimizely and Crazyegg to have running heatmaps,
if you are using 2 Urls just need to create 2 snapshots and if you are running an A/B test in the same URL
just check
https://help.crazyegg.com/articles/12-a-b-test
https://help.crazyegg.com/articles/46-track-by-name
(I have severals experiments and I never use the integration lot of heartache)

Thank you for the information. I will take a look at it. I would prefer to not run into this issue again.

I'm glad that worked as a temporary fix. Our engineering team is still investigating the issue, but we'll update you as soon as we have a fix pushed.

Hi Juliana and Claire,
I just confirmed with our product team that the CrazyEgg integration has been fixed. Can you please try turning it back on again? I do apologize for any inconvenience this caused you.
Thanks so much,
Jason
