Doesn't track conversions from clicking "enter", only buttons

Our Optimizely test isn't tracking conversions from people who fill out a field and then click "enter", it only counts it if the person actually clicks the button. Is there a workaround or a solution to this? Thanks!

Re: Doesn't track conversions from clicking "enter", only buttons

Hi there,

The behavior you are seeing is expected since click events simply track mousedown events on an element. You can track when visitor's push 'enter' on their keyboard if you or your developer can provide custom javascript code that will track those events. Here's what is needed:

1. Javascript provided by you or your developer that will listen for form submissions or when a visitor pushes 'enter' on their keyboard.
2. Shared Code - This is where you can insert the javascript. The code will run on ALL pages the experiment is targeting: https://help.optimizely.com/Build_Campaigns_and_Experiments/Shared_code%3A_Run_custom_JavaScript_and...
3. Custom Event - A custom event you create on Optimizely so you can track those 'enter' events. Here is a link to our KB article for more info: https://help.optimizely.com/Build_Campaigns_and_Experiments/Custom_events_in_Optimizely_X
