Edit Style Does Not Save on pages created via a wordpress pagebuilder
1. I created a few pages on wordpress with a page build called profitbuilder. I am now trying to edit some of the elements via optmizely. After making my edits and saving the original and variation, the change pages goes back to its unedited version upon refresh. Is there a way i can fix this problem?
2. the results page shows visits, but does not track goal conversions. I have the optmizely wordpress plugin set up to enter the correct code snippit. And after checking source code on the pages, i see that it is there. Here is what it looks like http://i.imgur.com/bD8MUYm.png
The script is on line 19.
This issue might be occurring if Profitbuilder uses AJAX to load the page. It's script might be executing code that "restores" the original version of the page after the Optimizely variation code has executed. Are you seeing the variation briefly before it changes back to the Original version? If this is the reason, you'll need to write an ajaxComplete function that reapplies Optimizely's variation code after the Ajax call. Can you share your website with us? I'll be happy to have a look!
Also, here is an article about troubleshooting goals within your browser's console. Do you see the goals triggering in the network data?
Hope this helps! Looking forward to hearing your progress
Thanks for the response. It sounds like ajax complete function may be the solution because I am I see the changes made on the optimizely edit screen, but when i go reload the project, it changes back to what profitbuilder had originally. These are the pages I am trying to make changes to
It would be great if you can assist me with with fixing that.
As for the second part, I do not understand what you mean by "goals triggering in the network data"
It seems like optmizely is tracking visitors and engagement, but does not track the clicks on speceific element as a goal. Here is what the results page look like.
Thanks in advanced!
Can you confirm that on the LIVE page where the experiment is running, you see Variation 1 briefly before it changes back to the Original variation? Is your experiment currently live and running on the pages you mentioned above?
Also, this article explains what I mean by "goals triggering in network data">> https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/2000
When you pull up the developer console in your browser, there is a tab labeled 'network.' If Optimizely events are triggering, you'll see information about each triggered event here in the Query String Parameter. When troubleshooting goals, this is where you'll start.
a) Are the events triggering as expected
(Filter by 'event? in the Network tab, look for the appropriate n parameter)
b) Are the events being attributed to the correct experiment (x parameter)
c) Are the events displaying on your experiment's results page as expected.
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Sorry it does not change at all on the live page. Here is the change i was referring to.
As you see i move the circled element towards the left for both the original and variation. I saved it for both and it looks fine. I then go to check my LIVE page, it remains unchanged. I then go back to the optmizely editor as you see on the screen shot, it shows the changes I made. I then I close the editor screen that is saved and reload the editor. I see it as the original UNCHANGED version for both the variation and original.
I hope you can help me out.
