Experiment with Chinese Version of the Website

Hey there,

I'm hoping that someone could help me out with this issue I am having testing the Chinese copy of our website.

I have entered the URL "https://dtas.com/?lang=zh-hans",  But, it is still sending me to the https://dtas.com/ page for the visual optimization option.

I tried the snippet copy below, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any Ideas?

if (window.location.pathname.indexOf('/?lang=zh-hans') == 0) {
// <script src="https://cdn.optimizely.com/js/7955764070.js"></script>
}

Re: Experiment with Chinese Version of the Website

It looks like your site has a server level redirect that automatically sends users in the US to the English version of the page. In my testing, it looks like this redirect only happens if the user hasn't chosen a language preference. Once they choose a language preference, it looks like your site remembers that preference and gives the user the correct page on each subsequent visit.

You should be able to follow these steps to get the Chinese version of the page to load in the editor:

1) Go to https://dtas.com/ in a normal browser window
2) Click the Chinese language link at the top of the page, you should see the URL change to https://dtas.com/?lang=zh-hans
3) In the Optimizely editor, load the https://dtas.com/?lang=zh-hans URL

I have tested this on my end, and the correct page loads in the editor.

Re: Experiment with Chinese Version of the Website

Hello there,

Thank you for your response. However, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The website does not redirect to the US version when I load the page.

I initially, followed those instructions to get the Chinese version of the home page and loaded it to optimizely.

When I click on Pop Page Out in the dashboard, it takes me to the Chinese version. But, in optimizaly, it is still showing the English version.

Please advise!
