Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

[ Edited ]

Got an issue using optimizely:

My goal: I plan to test on checkout, continue shopping image buttons.

http://www.sportsjerseyscanada.ca/en/toronto-maple-leafs-jersey-7185104T.html
When you go from above page, click on add to cart ....you will be taken to a below page with continue shopping and add to cart buttons
https://www.sportsjerseyscanada.ca/index.php?dispatch=checkout.cart

BUT:

https://www.sportsjerseyscanada.ca/index.php?dispatch=checkout.cart
when I place the above URL directly on optimizely editor it doesnt work. Page is dynamic based on previous page and checkout image doesn't show up.

How will I be able to test checkout image and continue shopping buttons in such a case

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

Thanks for posting this. Please check out the discussion here for resources and instructions how how to get a cart page to load successfully into the editor.

It looks like your page is actually using session specific information to load the items into the cart page, which means you should be able to load the page into the editor no problem. I just tested using the method in the link above, and I was able to get it work just fine.

Let me know if you have any questions on this. Thanks so much!

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

Amanda,

I did the same as instructed.

Followed steps as instructed in:

https://community.optimizely.com/t5/Using-Optimizely/Test-a-restricted-site-with-basic-authenticatio...

When I create link in optimizely, I see screen attached.

I do see some error message on optimizely screen. Maybe thats the cause for checkout page not loading on optimizely ?

Thanks

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

Hey there -- you have to visit your website and add an item to the cart first. And then you can go to Optimziely and create an experiment with that URL. If your page is http (not https) you may need to enable unsafe scripts in the editor -- you can find details on how to do this here

Let me know if that does the trick

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

Hey there, I just tried this again and it seemed to work for me in your test 4. I am using Chrome. I have attached the video here so you can see my process. Can you try replicating these steps?

It looks like the cart information is included in the sess_id cookie, so you will want to make sure that the cookie you see in the editor matches the same one that you see in the tab session you have open.

As a plan B, you can always create a static version of this page and load it into the editor to make your changes. That way you don't have to worry about session cookies. Your targeting will allow the experiment to run live.

Let me know how this goes.

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

I thried the same as you shown on the video. But still i am facing the same problem. It might be some settings issue in my system or browsers. I also tried in all browsers. I faced same problem.

I noticed the Compatibality Mode alert which is common in all my browsers. I tried to fix it with the steps mentioned in https://optimizely.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200179074-Why-does-a-security-warning-trigger-in-th... and also moxed content issue https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/204602997

I am here with attached the screen shot with compatibility mode alert.

Re: Getting the full checkout page with cart items to show up in the editor

How can I get helped? What are my options. This is taking too long

I have tried it on 3 different machines, browsers. Got it tried with 3 different people. They all see the same issue.

If you try it on your personal machine (not optimizely machine) I'm confident you will see the same issue I'm facing.

I'm a developer I understand what I'm doing.
