Goal tracking in analytics vs optimizely results dashboard
When comparing experiment results in optimizely and GA we get different purchase counts: GA always shows slightly less conversions then optimizely.
Is this a common issue and what could cause it?
There are multiple reasons that could cause this, in a specific environment it will happen that after a conversion the site needs to send multiple calls to both Google Analytics as Optimizely. In this case the code for Optimizely is probably fired first which will cause it to delay the call to Google Analytics which could prevent it from being send at all.
Another issue that usually comes up is that it takes a while for the tracking code for Google Analytics to load which delays the process as well. All in all problems that are really hard to fix.
