I am trying to figure out how to show the source in Analytics when I have optimizely turned on.
Basically I need to know where the web traffic comes from to our site. Normally this is easy to see in Google Analytics. However now my sources are saying "app.optimizely.com / referral" and not the real source. We are testing marketing avenues so seeing the where people come from is very important. Any ideas how I fix this?

Hi,
Sure, first off it's weird that you see the data appearing like this. What you could do to prevent this is make sure that the referral source: app.optimizely.com is excluded. You can read more about how to do this in this help article from Google Analytics: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2795830?hl=en

Hi there,
Could you please attach a screenshot of the referral source?
Best,

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot. It looks like the 29 visitors (0,26%) are internal page views, which can be caused by opening the preview mode through Optimizely's proxy. You may want to exclude this domain from your reports.
Please let me know if you have further questions!
Best,
Mario

I'm getting this same error. It's definitely not internal visits using the preview tool. Any idea what's going on and how to fix?
