How to not track myself?

Do I track myself when I am using optimizely? how can I change that?

I am especially concerned that I will track myself when I am visiting goal pages.

Hi @GerritS,

Yes you will be considered as part of the experiment by default.

The best solution is to exclude your IP / office IP(s) from the results using the method outlined in Optimizely's article, here. If you don't know your IP, you should be able to easily find it from google or sites such as whatismyipaddress.com. It will need to be in the form of a RegularExpression, and you can test your RegEx with sites such as rubular.com

Another more awkward solution would be to test, then reset results, and create an audience that means you won't enter the experiment

I hope that information helps!

thanks!

IP would be hard as I work from different places all the time.

I realized that I am at least only tracking my conversions once.

Re: How to not track myself?

Yup it will only track once (if from the same browser, as Optimizely uses cookies to track the user for the lifetime). If you had a few regular places you use, you could always use the above method to graph the IPs and add them to the regular expression Smiley Happy
