IP Filtering not working

Hi,

I'm trying to filter two of our offices IP's from being able to see the our tests.

Using the below regex, but it doesn't seem to be working, have I done it incorrectly?

[139.130.145.82|202.6.86.1]

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

Re: IP Filtering not working

Hi Rob,

The correct format for setting up an IP filter regular expression can be found in our knowledge base article here: https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/200040595

You'll want to indicate the start and end of the IP and escape all the "." characters. So your regex should look like this:

^139\.130\.145\.82$|^202\.6\.86\.1$

Hope this helps!

Re: IP Filtering not working

Awesome, thanks for this!

Do you know if changes will take affect if a test has already been created?

I applied your IP regex a few hours ago but still see the test page in my browser. Perhaps it'll only apply to new tests?

Cheers,

Rob

IP Filtering will not prevent you from seeing an experiment; it will simply make sure to filter you and your actions out from the Results page. The IP filter will be applied to your results immediately.

To exclude IP ranges from being included in experiments, you'll need to use an IP address audience condition (details here: https://help.optimizely.com/hc/en-us/articles/201876450#ip). This audience condition is available with an Enterprise subscription.

Hope this helps clear things up!

Ah I see - will get signed up shortly then!

I've got a pesky client we keeps making changes to his site best on early test results, rendering my experiment more or less useless grr!
