Is there any way to track what variant a form submission is coming from?

So I'm running a couple of experiments on getting a user to sign up to our newsletter.

I've managed to up sign up rates by 40% (relative) which is great, but I'd like to be able to tell whether these users are more or less likely to convert to a full sale at some stage over the next few weeks.

We're using formstack to collect signups.

Is there any way to get optimizely to set a variable in the signup form saying which variant the signup is from?

Then I could look at all email addresses that convert and track them back to which variant they signed up through. Currently the conversion actually happens through a third party site, so I can't put optimizely on there and have another goal or something like that.

Does formstack support you adding a new <input> to the form?

If so, here is some code that shows how to add a new input to the form.

$('form#search-form').append('<input type="hidden" name="optimizely_experiment" value="x123456978_v1">');
