Question about serving experience to a set of user ids

We have a list of about 5k user ids that we want to serve a specific message to using Optimizely.  We were thinking about using an if condition to check if the user id for each user is in the set of user ids and then if it is, serve them the message.  Is there a recommended limit to how many conditions should be in this type of or statement?  Or are there best practices that you would recommend to run this type of test in Optimizely?

Thanks,

If you are on the Enterprise plan, this would be a good use of "List Targeting".

IMO, I would refrain from doing 5000 comparisons via JS on every user's page hit... that is going to be wicked slow.
