[SOLVED] Users who match the audience of a test are not seeing the test

[ Edited ]

I have set up the following rules for my audience:

Visitor comes from these URLs:
youtube.com > Substring match

and Traffic is allocated 100% to the variation.

Is it possible that Optimizely does not force all the users coming from Youtube to see the variation?

Thank you!

Re: Users who match the audience of a test are not seeing the test

Hi joako,

If the user is browsing Youtube on https (in the URL), the referrer will show up as blank. This is because browsers don't pass referrer information from HTTPS to HTTP.

A couple ways to work around this:

1. If you have https for your site, distribute that link instead of the regular http:// link.

2. If you're tracking traffic coming from your videos, you can add a query parameter to the link and tell Optimizely to look for that query parameter.

Hopefully that fixes the issue!

Best,

Michael
