Setting up goals on Clicks

Hi there,

I have some troubles with setting up goals on clicks.

I have read the tutorials on optimizely, but not getting my answer.

My question is when we create goals on clicks, do we need to have same class for both pages? Page A and Page B. I have set click goal on contact us link and that link class has different from the original page.

Since the Original version was not tracking for a while this would heavily favor the Variation #1.

Best Regards,

Re: Setting up goals on Clicks

If your selector is different on another page, then you need to include both of those selectors for that custom event. For example, if you have .contact on one page and .another-contact on another page then your custom event for click_contact_us would have the following selector: .contact, .another-contact

Answering your question, No the selector do need to be the same

Let me explain ti you step by step

1 - Create a click goal set up the name and the URL

2- When the popups open put your first URL (variation-1) and select the button that you want

3- In the same window put your second URL (variation-2) and select the button that you want

4 -In the Advance option put Both URL
