Test responsive variation on mobile device

Hey,

I want to test my variation if it doesn´t break the responsive layout.

I know that I can use a device in the "Editor Settings" but whats about testing on real devices?

Can I bucket myself into a Variation like on a desktop pc: optimizely.bucketVisitor(6212420144,1) or is the only way to open the url with the force paramater?

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, so far I have always tested using the force parameter method. I would be interested to know how you bucket yourself into a variation without using force parameter on desktop if you have a moment to explain.

Many thanks

Re: Test responsive variation on mobile device

Hey Jackie,

bucket yourselve into a variation is easy with the data object.

Open the console in the developer tools and type:

optimizely.bucketVisitor(6212420554,1)

In this case above the first number is the experiment id and the second number the variation.

Usually dev team will use a mobile simulator tool and test on there using the forced parameter link. Otherwise, you can also use that link and go to console and change your console to show your page in its mobile state.
