Using custom event tags in Experiment reporting
I've read about setting up event tags and using them for audiences but it's not very clear if it's possible to utilize them in actual metrics/reporting. Looking at the UI it doesn't appear so.
Example: we'd like to supply sign up "location" as a tag for signup event. This way we could drill down into signups from the home page or a category page locations separately. Similar how Google Analytics treats labels.
Is it possible to do this rather than setting audiences based on event tag presence?
You could set a dimension.
user clicks button on the homepage, you set "location=homepage"
user clicks button on a category page, you set "location=category"
presuming you created a dimension with the API name "click_location":
window.optimizely.push(['addToSegment', 'click_location', 'homepage']); window.optimizely.push(['trackEvent', "sendSegmentData"]);
In your results, you can see how users performed when they had the "homepage" value vs those that had the "category" value.

Ultimately, the question may come down to, "What's the point of event tag if you can't access it in reporting?"
