Why should I get Optimizely Platform Certified?
Do you want to be recognized as an optimization expert? Are you looking for a proven optimization professional to join your team?
We’ve created the Optimizely Certification Program to help companies easily find and hire qualified optimization team members, and help individuals grow their skill-set and reach career goals.
- “I would recommend that others get certified because it really helps you learn about the full breadth of functionality in the Optimizely product. As an average user, you may only be using a narrow sliver of the product; certification helps you discover and understand features that you may not have known much about before.” - amitch5903
- “Read ALL of the study guide. You'll be surprised what you learn! For those who don't constantly login to Optimizely, create an account and set up dummy tests. Using the product in conjunction with reading about it is a much easier way to learn.” - MeganBush
- “ I was excited about getting Optimizely Certified because I absolutely love the product and I hope that my getting certified will inspire others at my company to try the product as well. We’re working hard on strengthening our testing culture and I see Optimizely and Optimizely Certification as a strong part of that effort.” - amitch5903

Having an Optimizely certification goes a long way with potential clients. Most will want to spend time reviewing some of your case studies and learning the way you approach CRO. Certification gives them the confidence your team to execute on what you've discussed.
As someone who has recently taken the certification, I thought I'd pass along my thoughts on the process and the test for anyone interested in going through the certification.
Even though we've been using Optimizely for almost 2 years (we were also certified last year through a different process) , I did take the time and go through each each lesson.
The lessons were fairly straightforward, concise and the curriculum has a clear "voice". I would have liked more screenshots but overall I'd say for a brand new education source, the Optiverse academy is very well done.
I learned a few things along the way about the platform and better ways to do other tasks, so the time spent was well worthwhile to me.
One thing I didn't do, that was recommended in the academy, is to create practice experiments to accompany the curriculum.
In hindsight, though, I would probably do this next time and I would encourage anyone who has not spent extensive time in the tool to take this approach as some of the questions are quite technical.
After the test, I would have liked to see the few questions I answered incorrectly so that I could go back and better understand the topics.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them below and I'll try and answer them to the best of my ability.
I agree with Keith's point as to having the ability to see which questions you got wrong and why. Purely from an experience standpoint, knowing what errors I made and what the correct answer should be is a potentially valuable learning path.
Hey @MJBeisch - Thanks so much for the feebdack on the exam. We are currently working on a new feature that would allow you to see which questions you missed by category. This would allow you to go back and review the materials associated with the particular category (for example, "Targeting").
U know it's always a good idea validate your knowlwdge through tests and I never imagined a roadmap like this one would be released. Certifications regarding Usability matters are always hard to find and A/B is one of the most important parts to validate ideas we implement focused on Usability.
So revisit pieces of optimizely we don't often use will increase the accuracy of our A/Bs but we will also contribute to consolidate this certification as a strandard for A/B testing.
Is it possible to get a promo code? Getting certified will make me a better employee and I'll be able to share what I've learned with my co-workers. I'll also be a more valuable member of this community and assist other members with their optimization efforts by answering their questions on the forum. This certification with follow me throughout my career.
