Will Optimizely redirect traffic itself?

I already have an engine for redirecting traffic. I want to run a redirection experiement via Optimizely. Will Optimizely's code affect the working of my native engine? If yes, then how can I prevent it?

Basically my need with Optimizely is only to see the pageviews and click rates over the particular elements while redirection is left to my own engine. Will that be possible?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to the Optimizely community!

You can override Optimizely's random assignment mechanism by using the bucketVisitor API call and then forcing a visitor to a specific variation. You must place this API call before the Optimizely snippet so that Optimizely knows that the visitor has already been assigned to a variation. The goals will still be tracked and displayed on your Results Page.

Read more about how to set up the bucketVisitor API call here and setting up a redirect experiment here.

However I am not sure how you have set this up so this might not work in your specific case.

Is this what you are looking for?
